Focus
Our 11+ Comprehension programme focuses on building strong academic ability, confident communication, and independent thinking in every child. Lessons are designed to improve reading accuracy, vocabulary, inference, analysis and written expression while developing focus, resilience, and self-belief. We prepare pupils not only for success in grammar and independent school entrance exams, but also to enjoy reading as something fun, challenging, and rewarding. We cover all core comprehension skills alongside advanced techniques, ensuring pupils are fully prepared to tackle unseen texts with confidence and clarity.
Structure
Our tuition is carefully structured to provide maximum progress and personalised support. Pupils complete targeted pre-work before lessons to build familiarity with key vocabulary, themes and skills. In-class learning focuses on guided reading, discussion, exam-style questions, and strategy development. Homework is set weekly to reinforce learning and track improvement. Pupils practise using a wide range of high-quality texts from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries, including fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Teaching is delivered with subject expertise, clear explanations, and regular feedback so that every child understands not just what to answer, but how and why.
